Hydroponic ginger
A place where the love of growing fresh produce and flavour comes together, Groenguns!
The main focus of the farm is to grow high quality ginger produce. Our ginger is grown hydroponically on the foothills of Simonsberg, Western Cape, South Africa.
Whilst working towards growing more sustainable and organic produce we focus on precision farming technologies by using, less insecticides, less artificial fertiliser, less water and less energy that result in good farming practices.
Ginger is a tender, freshly harvested, ready-to-use aromatic rhizome.
Ginger can be used by slicing it directly from the rhizome as required. Ginger’s delicate flavour and tender texture is great for complimenting freshly squeezed juice, slow food, preserve, compote, pickles, syrup, stir-fry, tea and fermented food such as kimchi. It also adds wonderful flavour to a variety of kombucha brews.
Ginger can be frozen, easily grated, thinly sliced or simply enjoyed fresh in your preferred culinary dish.
